A bomb threat called into the Baldwin County 911 center on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, caused the Bay Minette courthouse building to be evacuated and resources including a bomb dog from the Mobile Police Department deployed to ensure the public’s safety.
On February 4, 2025, investigators with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Intelligence, Digital Forensics and Criminal Investigations Divisions conducted a search warrant in the Perdido Community of Baldwin County. This was part of a large investigation into the bomb threat.
As a result of an extensive investigation that spanned two states, the execution of numerous subpoenas and the execution of four search warrants, Daniel Ethan Howell was arrested for making a terroristic threat in the first degree.
In addition, BCSO investigators also arrested Donald Eugene Ippolito who was charged with Criminal Solicitation.
This activity disrupted the court system and caused distress to the citizens of Baldwin County. Sheriff Lowery is committed to vigorously investigating and holding those accountable that engage in this disruptive behavior.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Hancock County (MS) Sheriff’s Office and the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office for their assistance with this case.
