Police Charge Man With Murder in Fatal Crash

MOBILE, AL. On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Cottage Hill Road and Schillinger Road in reference to a traffic accident.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim deceased.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered a pickup truck traveling on SB Schillinger Road ran a traffic light and collided with a vehicle traveling WB on Cottage Hill Road.

The deceased victim was a passenger in the vehicle that was struck. He’s been identified as Alan Grantham, 72.

The driver of that vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Chase Bodiford, 25, was arrested on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in reference to this traffic fatality accident.
