Woman Arrested For Theft of Rental Vehicle

MOBILE, Ala. Police officers on patrol spotted a rental vehicle that had previously been reported as stolen.

Officers were in the area of Government Street when they first saw the 2024 Ford Transit U-Haul van on Tuesday September 9, 2025.

Mobile police officers checked their database and confirmed that the vehicle was still reported as stolen and pulled the vehicle over.

Latasha Hollis, 36, was behind the wheel and was arrested.

Officers said the woman had the van since July 11, 2025, when she rented it and never returned it.

Hollis has been charged with theft by fraudulent lease or rental.

She was taken to Metro Jail, where she is waiting on a bond hearing.
