At least three wrecks in Loxley kept emergency responders busy on Sunday including one that left multiple people injured.
The Baldwin County 911 Communications Center began receiving 911 calls about a serious wreck on Interstate 10 between the 43- and 44-mile markers at around 9:25 a.m.
Additional callers reported that the accident involved three or four vehicles and that several people were hurt.
The Loxley Fire Department and several ambulances were dispatched to the crash along with ALEA state troopers.
A medical helicopter was also dispatched and later canceled.
At least three ambulances were needed to treat and transport the injured patients according to law enforcement.
During the crash, several lanes had to be shut down and traffic was directed away from the crash area.
ALEA and emergency personnel were on-scene at the crash for more than two hours.
At 11:22 a.m., the Loxley fire and police departments were also dispatched to the intersection of N Hickory St and N Magnolia St for another crash.
But that would not be the last crash response of the day.
At around 3:15 p.m., Loxley firefighters would once again be called back to Interstate 10 Exit 44 offramp to Highway 59 where a vehicle lost control and took out a large traffic signal control box.
There were no serious injuries reported at the crash, except to the traffic light box.
Firefighters were at that scene for an extended time to assist law enforcement with traffic control.
The Alabama Department of Transportation was notified to respond to the scene to repair the damage to the traffic control box.
