UPDATE: Elberta Police Officer Crash Injures Two People
ELBERTA, Ala.

UPDATE:
A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:26 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, has critically injured a Robertsdale man.
Christopher A. Adams, 47, was seriously injured when the 2002 Nissan Frontier he was driving collided head-on with the 2019 Ford F150 driven by on-duty Elberta Police Officer Timothy R. Cooper, 39, of Elberta.
Adams was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. by helicopter for treatment.
Cooper sustained minor injuries and was transported to South Baldwin Hospital in Foley for treatment.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate.
Original Story: A serious accident involving an Elberta police officer driving a police car, occurred Tuesday after at around 2:45 p.m. on County Road 87.
Authorities say that the head-on collision seriously injured the driver of the second vehicle who had to be airlifted by a medical helicopter to a trauma center.
The officer, who has not been identified yet also was injured.
Multiple emergency responders were dispatched to the scene.
The accident shut down the road for more than two hours as the accident was investigated by ALEA.
