Baldwin County Father and Son Arrested on Child Sex Charges

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office received a check for a welfare check from the Florida Department of Human Services related to some children that they were monitoring this week and deputies were dispatched investigate that has resulted in a father and his son being arrested on sex offense charges relating to two children.
County deputies did locate the children in the northern part of the county, near Perdido and they began an investigation.
They found that 65-year-old James Ray Reid is a registered sex offender out of Florida after a 1991 case involving children. It prohibited him from being around children, but he admitted staying at the house overnight where at least one child also was.
During their investigation, 32-year-old James Ray Reid lied to deputies regarding the incident.
Deputies arrested the elder Reid and charged him with sex offense-adult sex offender in a prohibited residence location, and the younger Reid is charged with harboring a fugitive, as well as sex offense-harboring, assisting, concealing, or withholding.
Both were taken to the Baldwin County Detention Center.
