Woman Killed in Conecuh County Traffic Collision

CONECUH, Ala. A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, has claimed the life of an Evergreen woman.

Monica J. Phillips, 35, was fatally injured when the 2014 Nissan Rouge she was driving collided head-on with the 2015 Ford Explorer driven by Samantha K. Guy, 21, of Daphne.

Prior to the collision, the Ford truck struck a tree that was in the roadway.

Phillips was pronounced deceased at the scene. Guy was injured and transported to Andalusia Health in Andalusia for treatment.

Troopers investigated this wreck.

The crash occurred on U.S. 84 near the 112-mile marker, approximately 15 miles east of Evergreen city limits, in Conecuh County.
