MOBILE, Ala. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs has recently announced funding for both Mobile and Baldwin Counties to help community agencies with their efforts with homelessness.
According to a news release from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, the money is coming from the Emergency Solutions Grant program and will be directed toward nonprofit organizations.
“ADECA is pleased to join with Gov. Ivey and local governments and agencies in providing a helping hand to ensure Alabamians have a roof over their heads,” ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell said.
In Mobile County, $230,000 will be directed to Penelope House Inc. to “provide sheltering services,” the release said. They will also partner with Family Promise of Coastal Alabama and McKemie Place.
