Two Killed-1 Injured in Gulfport Walmart Shooting

GULFPORT, MS. A shooting at the local Walmart in Gulfport has left two people dead and a third person hospitalized.
Gulfport police said that the shooting at 1:33 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, occurred at the Walmart Neighborhood Market gas station on Highway 49 North.
Gulfport police, fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene and discovered the three individuals suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer has identified those victims as 24-year-old Ontario Randle of Moss Point and 29-year-old Shaquari Smith of Gulfport. Smith sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while Randle suffered a single gunshot wound. The third victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
At this time Gulfport has not given any details as to the cause of the shooting but said that they have several people in custody.
Preliminary investigation indicates the individuals involved were acquainted and some form of a confrontation occurred.
