Baldwin County Mother Charged With Manslaughter in Death of 17-Month Child

BAY MINETTE, Ala. A mother has been arrested after law enforcement said that she caused the death of her infant son.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kaitlynn Dominick ,22 after a two-week investigation and charged her with manslaughter and aggravated child abuse of a child under the age of six.
Investigators stated that Dominick gave the infant a liquid mixture through his feeding tube that ultimately caused his death, but they did not elaborate. The boy died May 5th, 2026, at USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, one day after Dominick brought him in.
Investigators said the child had a medical condition that required him to be nourished through a feeding tube. The medical team at the hospital made a mandatory report to the Department of Human Resources after the child’s death and police were called in.
Investigators said that at the completion of their investigation that they determined that the liquid given the infant caused the child’s death.
Capt. Justin Correa of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office stated the liquid given to the child caused the medical emergency that ultimately ended his life.
After two weeks of interviews with doctors, relatives and Dominick, investigators said they concluded she knew the liquid concoction would harm her son.
Correa stated that after conferring with the Baldwin County Attorney’s Office that they all agreed that this was a criminal and intentional offense.
Dominick is currently being held at the Baldwin County Detention Center.
