Two Charged in Shooting of 5 Year Old Child

The Mobile Police responded to a shooting at the Oak Ridge Apartments located at 4215 Moffet Road.
Police found that an innocent 5-year-old child had been shot while outside of an apartment unit.
Mobile Fire-Rescue immediately responded to treat the little girl and transported her to an area hospital.
Police said that two subjects were shooting at another individual when the child became the unintended target.
Mobile uniform police officers and investigators immediately began an investigation of the shooting.
Through their hard work, an arrest was made Wednesday night.
Police have identified Zion Sashington, 18, as one of the shooters and he was arrested and transported to Metro Jail on charges of Assault and Discharging a Gun into an Occupied Building.
The investigation revealed that 5 apartment units were also struck by gunfire, but there were no additional injuries.
A second suspect was also subsequently identified and arrested.
Treymond Sellers, 20, was charged with Assault 1st, Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling and Reckless Endangerment. Sellers is in the Metro Jail on a Probation Revocation.
