BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. They say that in police work, no traffic stop is routine because they can all be dangerous and each one is different. And most season officers are never surprised with what they see or hear when approaching a vehicle.
Unfortunately, on Monday, January 5, 2026, during a traffic stop conducted by an ALEA trooper, what he saw was no laughing matter. It was sad and it could’ve ended badly for the driver and her passenger.
Troopers reported that Amelia Fra Earl, 34, was driving under the influence of alcohol with a child in her vehicle.
While ALEA troopers were investigating, Earl was uncooperative and when being placed under arrest, resisted law enforcement.
Earl was charged with:
Driving Under the Influence
Resisting Arrest
Endangering the Welfare of a Child
She has since been released from jail on a secured bond and a court date.
