Three Charged in Organized Theft Attempt

MOBILE, AL. A case of organized retail crime resulted in the arrest of three people who didn’t scan all of their merchandise at a self-checkout register.
On Monday, September 15, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a Walmart asset protection employee notified an officer working an extra job at the Walmart Super Center, located at 101 E. I-65 Service Road S, that multiple subjects had committed retail theft.
The officer was notified that three people were bagging merchandise without scanning or paying for it.
The officer notified dispatch for assistance, and officers contacted those involved.
Police arrested Antonio Pettaway, 42, Kentisha Hemingway, 39, and Tykeria Pettaway, 23, and they were transported to Metro Jail.
