Police Investigating Bomb Threat Called Into Publix Store

The Mobile police are investigating a bomb threat that was received by the Publix grocery store located at 9124 Cottage Hill Road.
Police said that the threat occurred at around 7:32 a.m. on Thursday.
Shoppers said that they were alarmed when they saw a parking lot of fire trucks and police vehicles as they were escorted out of the store.
The store was reported closed to the public for a time.
According to officers, someone called the store and threatened to detonate a bomb if their demands were not met inside the store.
Mobile police brought in additional resources and searched the store but found no explosive devices or suspicious packages.
No further information has been released regarding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
