Mobile Police Pursuit Critically Injures Driver

MOBILE, AL. On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m., Mobile police officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Michael Boulevard and Azalea Road.
Officers had observed a traffic violation when the driver of the vehicle refused to comply and would not stop for the officers.
The driver led officers on a pursuit that ended on McGregor Avenue near the intersection of Old Shell Road.
The driver struck a police unit and at least two other vehicles during the pursuit.
The male subject who led officers on the pursuit was injured in the collision and has life-threatening injuries and he was transported to a local hospital.
Two occupants of one of the vehicles were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This remains an active investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.
