Police Conclude Murder-Suicide Investigation in Chickasaw

CHICKASAW, Ala. Police in Chickasaw have been working through an investigation that has now been classified as a Homicide-Suicide.
On Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, police, firefighters and EMS responded at around 11:14 p.m. after receiving calls that someone had been shot there.
The Mobile County EMS providers pronounced two people deceased at the scene.
Chickasaw Police Chief Eugene “Chip” Parker said in a statement that they have concluded that it was a murder-suicide and that their investigation indicates that the man shot the woman before turning the weapon on himself.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office also responded and conducted a joint investigation.
Police have identified 37-year-old Jessica Tucker who was shot and killed while sitting in a car in the 1200 block of Devander Drive.
Police believe 37-year-old Frederick Barnes shot Tucker before turning the gun on himself. His body was found outside of the vehicle.
