MOBILE, AL. A Mobile man charged with sexual abuse of a child was scheduled to go to trial on numerous charges, however on Monday, he instead entered a “blind plea”, knowing that no special deals or promises had been made before entering the plea.
Adam James Renk, 40, is accused of having a “torture room” pleaded guilty to child sexual abuse charges Monday, while a co-defendant accused of assisting him pleaded guilty to aggravated child abuse.
Renk also is facing in Oregon.
In court, Renk pleaded guilty to first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse and sexual abuse of a child younger than 12. He faces up to life in prison.
Renk’s co-defendant, Natasha Dee Still, 43, of Irvington, pleaded guilty to the child abuse charge for her part of allowing Renk to abuse the child and that she allowed the 11-year-old to be restrained. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with all but one year suspended and credit for the time she spent behind bars after her arrest.
Still will be on probation for five years and will not be allowed to have any contact with the victim or her family.
For a time, a U.S. Marshals Service task force led an urgent search for Renk. He surrendered in October 2024.
