Police Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle Ends in Crash at Greer’s Grocery Store

MOBILE, AL. A Mobile police officer patrolling the area of Moffet Road spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier.
The officer activated their blue lights and sirens, but the driver fled, leading police on a pursuit, on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026.
Police said the vehicle, which was first noticed near Moffet Road and Interstate 65, sped off onto Moffet Road striking a Police Tahoe near the intersection of Springhill and Moffet roads as the driver continued driving down Springhill Road before crashing into a vehicle in the side parking lot of Greers Grocery Store, located at 2980 Springhill Avenue.
After striking a parked vehicle in the parking lot, resulting in disabling damage to the stolen vehicle the juvenile was taken into custody.
Detectives responded to the scene. No officer was injured during this incident.
A juvenile was arrested and charged with Theft of Property 1st, Receiving Stolen Property 1st, Felony Eluding Police and transported to Strickland Youth Center without further incident.
