A very serious accident on US 98 between Lillian and Elberta shut down the roadway near Deer Acres Drive Friday night at around 6:15 p.m.
The first firefighter that arrived at the scene immediately called for additional assistance and fire departments from Lillian, Elberta, and Perdido Beach along with Medstar, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, and ALEA state troopers all responded to the scene.
Firefighters reported that two males inside the vehicle may have been suffering from a drug overdose at the time of the accident and several applications of Narcan were used with little to no results.
A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene as well.
Traffic on US 98 in this area had to be rerouted for quite some time during this incident.
Currently, ALEA has not released the condition of the occupants of the vehicle.
