Foley Mother Arrested For Torture of Her Child

FOLEY Ala. On April 24, 2025, a Foley School Resource Officer received notification regarding the abuse of a student by a parent.
The officer followed up and began an investigation and following further investigation by an assigned detective, it was determined that the mother, now identified as Alexis Sandrea Smith, 31, had excessively disciplined her child.
Smith has been charged with Torture/Willful Abuse of Child, a class c felony and is being held at the Baldwin County Detention Center.
Foley police reported that this incident had occurred in the 1800 block of Airport Rd. in Foley.
A safety plan has been established for the children and placed with other relatives by The Department of Human Resources.
