Elberta Fire Department Fights Structure Fire During Rainstorm

The Elberta Volunteer Fire Department along with firefighters from the Foley Fire Department and
several other area fire departments fought an early morning house fire during the on again, off-again storms Friday morning.

The fire on Stucki Road was reported around 8:30 a.m. and the first arriving fire truck immediately reported that it was a “working” fire after seeing smoke pouring out of the roof.

Mutual-aid fire departments were then dispatched to assist in containing the blaze.

Several area neighbors reported lightning in the area at the time of the fire but there is
no confirmation that’s what started this fire.

Fire crews remained on-scene for more than three hours.
