Deputies Find Missing Alabama Girl During Traffic Stop

HENDERSON, KY. WEHT – Deputies in Vanderburgh County were able to find a missing teen from Alabama during a traffic stop.
The sheriff’s office states at about 9:08 a.m. on Saturday, deputies were alerted to a “Be on the Lookout” notice regarding a missing female juvenile from Albertville, Alabama. Officials stated that the juvenile was believed to be possibly traveling through Vanderburgh County.
Officials say deputies were able to find a vehicle in the BOL description traveling north on U.S. Highway 41. A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of 41 and Volkman Road.
Inside the vehicle was the missing teen, a male juvenile, and an adult male identified as 21-year-old Pedro Rodrigo Sebastian Mateo of Champaign, Illinois.
Officials say Mateo had an outstanding felony warrant related to his involvement with the missing juvenile from Alabama.
He was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Vanderburgh County Jail pending extradition to Alabama.
