Choctaw County Man Involved in Fatal Traffic Collision

CHOCTAW COUNTY, AL. ALEA troopers say that a single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, and it has claimed the life of a Whatley man.
Terris D. Martin, 45, was critically injured when the 2010 Cadillac Escalade he was driving left the roadway and overturned.
Martin was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Choctaw General Hospital in Butler, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on Alabama 156 near the 6-mile marker, approximately one mile west of Pennington, in Choctaw County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
This was the second fatality reported in Choctaw County during the holiday weekend.
Ladarius J. Washam, 33, was critically injured when the ATV that he was driving was involved in a collision.
