ALEA Investigating Fatal Choctaw County Wreck

CHOCTAW COUNTY, AL. A two-vehicle crash involving two all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) that occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, has claimed the life of a Waynesboro, Miss., man.
Ladarius J. Washam, 33, was critically injured when the 2024 Honda CRF 450 ATV he was operating on ran off the roadway and struck the 2022 Can-Am Renegade ATV, which was parked and stationary at the time of the crash.
Washam was transported to Choctaw General Hospital in Butler, where he later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on Shady Grove Road near Causey Drive, approximately three miles east of Silas city limits, in Choctaw County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
