Briarwood Christian School Assistant IT Director Arrested For Child Porn Possession

SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 34-year-old man for possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
The arrest of Taylor Michael Ward of Montevallo was made on October 3rd, 2025, after determining that he was involved in possession and distribution of child pornography.
Shelby County Sheriff’s Office criminal investigators received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on Sept. 22 regarding the dissemination of CSAM in Shelby and Jefferson County. Investigators quickly found that Ward was a suspect.
Investigators obtained 10 arrest warrants for possession of CSAM and 10 warrants for distribution of the material against Ward. He was arrested at his residence on Friday. Investigators also executed a search warrant and seized numerous electronic devices. According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office electronic detection canine and handler assisted in the search.
Ward is being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $900,000.
“The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will work tirelessly to stop any transmission or receipt of child pornography in this county,” said Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego. “I have a team of incredibly skilled investigators armed with state-of-the-art technology to track such abhorrent images and stop the victimization of precious children.”
