Alabama Man Used Cattle Prod to Assault Child

ALBERTVILLE, Ala.

An Albertville man is facing child abuse charges after police say that he punished his child with physical violence and a cattle prod.

After police responded to the residence and investigated, they arrested Michael Taylor who is accused of using a cattle prod to punish and beat a child.

Police said that the abuse had happened more than once and charged Taylor with two counts of aggravated child abuse.

Taylor was booked into jail and has a preliminary hearing on June 18.
