BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. A man wanted in Pascagoula Mississippi for shooting two women Friday afternoon, was no match for the “Grappler”.
Chief Terry Scott of the Pascagoula Police Department said that two women were injured in a shooting at a home on Robinhood Drive and that officers learned that 60-year-old Len Aaron Street was the shooter.
Police said that he took a vehicle from the home and fled the area before police arrived.
Law enforcement investigators were able to determine that Street was heading toward Alabama and notified the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office for assistance.
BCSO deputies were able to pin down the location of the vehicle.
When deputies activated their lights and sirens, the driver refused to stop, and deputies deployed the “grappler device” which is shot out of a device attached to the police vehicle and wraps around the suspect’s tire to stop the vehicle.
Deputies had a successful deployment on the vehicle on I-65 near the Perdido exit and Street was arrested shortly after.
The women, who were not identified, both have non-life-threatening injuries.
Street is being held at the Baldwin County jail on a fugitive from justice charge.
