Two Women Survive After Car Drives Into Bayou Sarah Boat Launch

SARALAND, AL. A person in the area of the Saraland boat ramp notified 911 that a vehicle had driven into the water.
The caller said that he did not know if anyone was still inside and both the police and fire departments were dispatched to the area.
Saraland Fire Chief Chad Conner said they responded to a call for a vehicle in the water at the Saraland boat launch at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
Divers were also called to the area to search for anyone still in the water.
According to Saraland police, the two women in the sedan were able to make it out unharmed but EMS transported both occupants to a hospital for observation.
According to the information provided, it is believed that the driver may have gotten lost and unintentionally drove into the water at the Bayou Sara boat ramp.
Police said that they are continuing to investigate.
Police did not reveal the identities of the two women.
