SEMMES, AL. Two men from Semmes have been indicted for manslaughter charges relating to separate fentanyl overdoses according to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.
19-year-old Kaleb Daniel Harden and 20-year-old Brayden Robert Hollie were indicted, each on one count of manslaughter.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, Harden was arrested in September of 2024 after deputies found a 17-year-old on Howells Ferry Road dead from a fentanyl overdose and Hollie was arrested a month later, in October, in connection with 18-year-old Jayce Ward’s overdose death. Police said that Ward was found at a home on Vickets Road.
Hollie was out on bond earlier this year when he was arrested in April 2025 on charges of third-degree domestic violence, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and second-degree possession of marijuana.
“These are not just numbers or statistics,” read a DA’s office Facebook post. “These are lives lost, families broken, and communities forever changed.
“This past Sunday marked Fentanyl Awareness Day, a solemn reminder of how dangerous and deadly this drug truly is.”
