Three Arrested After Stolen Car Found Burned in Chunchula

MOBILE COUNTY, AL. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men and a juvenile in connection with a stolen vehicle that was later set on fire.
Deputies responded on September 6 to Old Citronelle Road, where the victim reported her 2013 white Kia Rio missing. Broken glass was found at the scene. The next day, the car was located burned in a sandpit on Barney Carter Road.
Surveillance footage and witness statements led investigators to identify multiple suspects.
On September 10, deputies located and arrested Joshua Bennett and Xavier Conery.
Both face charges of Theft of Property 1st Degree and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree.
A juvenile suspect was also arrested and will face related charges through Strickland Youth Center.
The case remains under investigation, and further charges could be forthcoming.
