Summerdale Stabbing Suspect Captured in Florida

SUMMERDALE, Ala. A person responsible for a stabbing that occurred on Saturday, July 19th, 2025, at a soccer game in Summerdale fled the area after the incident but has since been located and arrested.
The victim of the stabbing, however, did not call an ambulance or the police but was transported to an area hospital in a personal vehicle.
But once the person arrived at the hospital, employees had to notify law enforcement, and they began an investigation according to Baldwin County Sheriff Anthony Lowery. “The victim was stabbed multiple times with a knife.”
During their investigation they notified other law enforcement in the area to be on the lookout for Jefferson Lopez-Tinoco, 23, a Honduran national.
Law enforcement in Destin on a vehicle and discovered that Tinoco was wanted for attempted murder and he transported back to Baldwin County.
The stabbing occurred at a soccer game on a field on private property, off County Road 49.
Sheriff’s investigators said two players got into a fight, and Tinoco, who was a spectator, decided to break up that fight with a knife.
The victim was stabbed numerous times in the neck and in the back along the spine,” said Lowery.
Law enforcement stated that they are not identifying the name of the victim at this time.
“Tinoco was here in the United States lawfully, but now we are going to ask, obviously, that he be deported back to Honduras,” said Lowery.
There is no word on the medical condition of the person that was assaulted.
