SUMMERDALE, Ala. Police have accused a man of home repair fraud as they continue to investigate and seek more victims of his crimes.
Right now, the Summerdale Police have charged Hunter Mikkelsen with home repair fraud and operating a business without a license.
Police say that they are still looking for others scammed by Mikkelsen, and they’re probably others throughout the county.
Mikkelsen was arrested today and charged with home repair fraud and operating a business without a license.
The investigation began on November 19, 2025, when a victim reportedly told officers he had hired Hunter’s Heating and Air in September to replace two air conditioners at a cost of more than $10,000.
The Summerdale Police Department said the victim was told both units were replaced. But within three weeks, one unit stopped working. Mikkelsen, the company’s owner, removed it from the Davis Road residence but did not fix or replace it, police said.
According to authorities, the victim reported that the second unit broke down about 10 days later. Police said the victim reported that Mikkelsen never called them back or contacted them in any way.
Investigators said the victim hired another company, which determined that the second AC unit had never been replaced.
He has since been released on $2,000 bond, pending a court hearing.
