Spanish Fort Police Investigating a Murder-Suicide
SPANISH FORT Ala.

The Spanish Fort police responded to a shooting on Sunday and found a male and a female both deceased in the yard. Both had gunshot wounds according to the police.
Officers checked the area and entered the house where they observed signs that there had been an altercation inside according to Spanish Fort Police Chief John Barber.
Barber said that neighbors could hear a woman screaming, and other people saw what happened in the front yard. Several people came forward to speak with police officers.
Chief Barber said that at this time, we believe that this is a murder-suicide. He shot her and then almost immediately shot himself.”
This occurred at a home in the Spanish Fort Estates neighborhood.
Police have identified the deceased as Michael and Kerri Settle. Both were 48 years old.
Police said that Michael was a federal border patrol agent.
It is unknown, at this time, what led to the incident.
