Spanish Fort Police Announce Citizen’s Police Academy Dates

The Spanish Fort Police have announced that they are taking applications for their Second annual Citizens Police Academy.
For five weeks, the academy members will meet on Tuesday nights from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. beginning on April 15th and ending on May 13th.
The Citizens Police Academy is a civilian training program, established to provide members of the community with a better understanding of the Spanish Fort Police Department, as well as the structure and limit of police power.
Familiarity with these principles is the key to understanding the actions and reactions of police officers. The program will provide a greater understanding of Patrol, Criminal Investigations, School Resource Officers, Dispatch, and specialty positions.
Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check and be a minimum age is 18.
The deadline to submit your interest in attending is March 20th, 2025.
