Shots Fired, Person Shot and Police Chase Under Investigation by Saraland Police 

SARALAND, Ala.

A speeding car, gunshots, and a person shot all led to a police pursuit down Interstate 65 in Saraland, that ended in Mobile, according to police.

Saraland Police Chief J.C. West said that officers heard shots fired on the interstate around 9 p.m. and then saw a red Dodge Charger speeding along the highway.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued fleeing according to the chief.

Saraland officers chased the car until it stopped outside of the University Hospital emergency room in Mobile. That’s when officers determined someone inside the car had been shot, according to authorities.

Chief West said that the injured person received a gunshot wound to the hand and that police are investigating if the shooting occurred in their jurisdiction or elsewhere.
The chief did not say if the driver will face any charges.
