Saraland Man Arrested for Child Abuse Torture

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. A Saraland man has been arrested and is facing serious charges after police were notified of an assault against a child.
Saraland police responded to an incident involving 42-year-old Deangelious Clinton Wooten.
Wooten is accused of hitting an 8-year-old child with an unknown metal object on January 15, 2026.
Arresting documents say he had “the permanent or temporary care or responsibility for the supervision of a child under 18 years of age,” with the child in question being 8 years old.
After police conducted an investigation and secured a warrant, Wooten was arrested on January 24th, 2026, by Saraland Police and booked into the Metro Jail.
He faces a charge of Child Abuse Torture.
He was released Jan. 26 on a $10,000 bond.
Documents did not indicate who has the child at this time.
