Rescuers Called to Causeway For Possible Drowning

Emergency personnel have been sent to the causeway area after a 911 caller reported seeing a body floating in the water at around 7:11 a.m.

At this time, we know that the Spanish Fort police and fire departments and the Alabama Marine Police have been dispatched to the area and are conducting a search.

Throughout the year, 911 receives numerous calls about boaters in distressed, capsized vessels and possible bodies in the water that were unfounded, though it was a good intent call.

At this time, the search is continuing and we’ll update this story as soon as more details are released from the authorities.
