Police Pursuit Ends in Wreck in Robertsdale

SUMMERDALE, Ala. Just before midnight, on Sunday, September 13, police attempted to stop a speeding vehicle, but the driver refused to comply and led officers on a pursuit that ended in a wreck on State Highway 59 near Ohio Street in Robertsdale.
The Summerdale police, Robertsdale police, and fire departments, along with an ambulance, responded to the wreck and assisted several people who were injured.
Edward Brooks Coburn, 27, was arrested by police and is being held on multiple charges that include:
Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement
Reckless Endangerment
Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
Buying/Receiving Stolen Property
Criminal Damage to Public Property
After being medically cleared by EMS, Coburn was taken to the Baldwin County Detention Center, where he is being held on $14,500 bond.
Police reported that a police vehicle was also damaged in the pursuit.
