FOLEY, Ala. An intersection in the City of Foley is closing for the rest of the year, beginning on Monday, September 15th.
City officials stated that this intersection, West Michigan Avenue and South Hickory Street, will undergo a substantial amount of work, making it necessary to shut it done.
The intersection will officially close on Monday, Sept. 15, at 8 a.m. It will remain closed until Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at 5 p.m.
While the intersection is closed, the Baldwin County Highway Department will add turn lanes in four directions and upgrade the signals.
This comes after the Baldwin County Commission voted in August to approve the project to improve the intersection.
This is the first phase of a three-phase project, which is projected to be completed by spring 2026.
