Police Investigating Death of a Teen Found Inside a Car

FLORENCE, Ala. Police in northern Alabama are currently conducting a death investigation after an 11-year-old child was found dead inside a car.
Police, Fire, and EMS were called and initially found the child unresponsive in a car outside his family’s home, but he has since died.
According to law enforcement, on Monday afternoon, employees of Hermitage Place Apartments found the boy in the family vehicle parked on Hermitage Drive in Florence and immediately called 911.
Employees of the apartment complex immediately administered lifesaving measures.
Florence police arrived to find the child in extremely critical condition, and he was transported by ambulance to North Alabama Medical Center, where he later died.
According to police, the child was enrolled in the Florence City Schools System, but the name of the school was not released. Police said counselors will be made available at the school.
An autopsy is being performed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
The Florence police are conducting a death investigation.
