ORANGE BEACH, AL. A long-awaited new shooting facility has opened in Orange Beach, and more than one hundred people came out to celebrate the grand opening of the Orange Beach Shooting Complex on Thursday.
The range, located at 23172 Russian Road, just off the Beach Express, offers a variety of shooting platforms, and the brand-new facility marks a major step for recreational shooting in the city.
The shooting complex currently features a Skeet and Trap facility with five fields, giving both newcomers and experienced shooters a place to practice and compete. Officials said plans are already in development to add a rifle range, which would expand opportunities for events and training in the future. The facility officially opened to the public the same day as the ceremony and will operate Thursday through Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm.
The facility will also offer several membership options, and the pricing has been set for both members and non-members.
For Skeet and Trap, non-members pay $15 per round, while members pay $12. First-time customers will need to pay an additional $2.50 card fee. More information can be found on the city’s website or by calling the facility directly at 251-923-9132.
Instead of a traditional ribbon-cutting, city leaders and visitors watched a special ceremony led by the State Champion Shooting Team. Team members hit clay targets infused with powder that burst dramatically when struck, marking the official start of the complex in a memorable way.
Orange Beach also has a pistol range operated by the Orange Beach Police Department and open to the public every other Saturday.
