Multiple Fire Departments Needed to Battle Large Loxley Barn Fire

LOXLEY, Ala. An early morning fire on Tuesday sent multiple fire departments responding to a large building that was fully engulfed with flames and sounds of explosions coming from the structure.
At around 5:30 a.m., responding firefighters were dispatched to the area of Powell Lane and Powell Lane Extension in the Loxley area, and upon arriving, found a 4000 square foot barn on fire and fully involved with exploding ammunition inside.
Firefighters set up an offensive (exterior) attack on the fire while trying to avoid the exploding bullets.
Police and EMS were also dispatched to the fire scene.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
