Mount Vernon Police, MCSO Investigating Shooting

MOUNT VERNON, Ala.
On November 8, 2025, at approximately 10:21 pm, the Mount Vernon Police Department received a call about shots being fired, followed shortly by a call reporting that a person had been shot at 19689 Karen Dr.
Mount Vernon PD responded and found the victim, Geremy Perryman (DOB 8/18/04), who had been shot twice in the back.
Mr. Perryman was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition.
The Mount Vernon Police contacted the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) for assistance. MCSO Major Crimes Detectives and MCSO Crime Scene responded to the scene.
Witnesses at the home stated that Geremy was walking his girlfriend to her car when shots were heard. The girlfriend drove away, and Geremy ran back inside, bleeding from his back. Another witness reported hearing shots fired while stopped at the intersection of Military Road and Shepard Lake Road.
The vehicle then sped off from Shepard Lake Road onto Military Road. This witness later found two bullet strikes on their car when they returned home.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is currently gathering video from all area residents, and investigators are asking for witnesses to come forward.
