Motorcycle Explosion Injures Person-Sets Home on Fire

The Mobile Fire-Rescue and Mobile police responded to an incident on Maple Drive that left one person injured after a gas tank on a motorcycle exploded.

The vehicle was being worked on while it was parked on the back porch of the home when an explosion occurred burning one person and it also caught the house on fire.

The 5:15 p.m. fire just off Cottage Hill substantially damaged the home according to the fire department.

The fire department also reported that the house serves as a group home.

The injured person was rushed to an area hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
