Mobile Woman Arrested in Shooting of Her Parents
MOBILE, Ala.
A woman police said shot her own parents has been arrested by Mobile Police.
Police said Charity Matthews, 36, shot both her parents during an argument at around 8 p.m. Sunday night and then fled the area with her young children.
Police responded to a home in the 1400 block of Avonlea Court where they found a man deceased and a woman shot and in serious condition.
Police quickly began tracking Matthews and found her at a hotel and was taken into custody.
MPD officers said that both children were found safe.
According to police, Matthews is also tied to another shooting that occurred on Saturday in the 2100 block of Height Street. The male victim in that shooting was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police did not reveal further details about that shooting.
Matthews has been booked into the Mobile Metro jail.
She has been charged with:
