Mobile Police Pursuit Ends With Arrest and Stolen Car Recovery

Police officers were notified that a vehicle had been stolen from Tecum’s Automotive located at 5423 Carol Plantation Road, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Police reported that the theft occurred at around 10:20 a.m.

While patrolling the area of Old Pascagoula Road later in the day, Mobile police officers spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the driver failed to yield and led officers on a police pursuit.

Eventually, the driver bailed out of the vehicle in the 5000 block of Woodchase Boulevard and officers continued the pursuit on foot.

Avery Sellers, 29, was located by police hiding in a nearby shed.

Sellers was arrested and charged with eluding/fleeing police, theft of property, and several other charges.
