Mobile Police Investigating Stabbing at Shopping Center

MOBILE, Ala. A man was found with life-threatening injuries in the parking lot of the Greers Supermarket located at 2980 Springhill Ave. on Sunday afternoon at around 3:45 p.m.

Police were dispatched to the parking lot where they found that a man had been assaulted and stabbed during an altercation.

Mobile-Fire Rescue responded and transported the male to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The Mobile Police Department said that officers detained a suspect but did not identify that person.

Investigators said it was determined that the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal altercation when the assailant punched and stabbed the victim.

The assailant was taken to police headquarters for further questioning and police said that the incident remains an active investigation.
