1 Person Dead, Juvenile Critical After Shooting in Mobile

MOBILE COUNTY, AL – On May 11, 2025, at approximately 1:51 am, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office responded to 911 calls about a shooting at the dead end of Tom Hopkins Road, also known as “the nut sack.”
When deputies arrived in the area, they discovered that two individuals had been shot.
Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene and transported the wounded persons to an area hospital.
A juvenile was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
Jaylon Rivers was taken by a family member to a separate residence, where he was later pronounced deceased.
According to MCSO Detectives, witnesses at the scene reported that the juvenile and Jaylon Rivers engaged in an argument. During the altercation, Rivers allegedly fired multiple shots at the juvenile, who then returned fire, striking Rivers.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this homicide.
