Mobile Police Conduct Weekend Traffic Enforcement

MOBILE, AL. Mobile Police continued their effort to prevent traffic collisions and injury or death by conducting traffic enforcement efforts during the Labor Day weekend.
The Mobile Police Department conducted directed enforcement in and around the Central Precinct on Friday, August 29, 2025, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. in the downtown area.
Officers issued 151 citations and 41 warnings to drivers. The precinct-wide enforcement was to ensure drivers in the area were in compliance with state and local traffic laws.
During the enforcement, officers checked for valid driver’s licenses, proof of insurance and current vehicle tag registration. The largest offense was speeding, with 50 citations issued along with 13 warnings. A driver was arrested for DUI during the traffic enforcement operation, too.
Officers will once again be conducting these traffic operations beginning Friday, September 5, 2025, and Saturday, September 13, 2025, in the downtown area.

No Insurance – 21 citations, 1 warning
Fail to Register – 4 citations
DUI – 1 citation
Totals – 151 citations, 41 warnings
