Mobile Police Arrest Man Responsible For Semi-Truck Driver’s Death

MOBILE, AL. Officers responded to a traffic accident on I-10 WB near Tennessee Street at approximately 1:30 a.m. on April 15th, 2026.
Upon arrival, they discovered an 18-wheeler on fire and the driver with life-threatening injuries and severe burns.
His truck had hit another vehicle and crashed onto the pavement below.
Medical personnel and firefighters were able to extricate the driver out of the truck, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.
The victim, who was identified as Aram Saakian, 26, died from his injuries while in the hospital on April 19, 2026.
Terrele Lutin, 47, has been arrested and transported to Metro Jail on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Lutin of Mobile was arrested Thursday morning after police were called to the 1000 block of Marine Street in reference to a burglary.
The subject admitted to leaving a vehicle unattended in the middle of I-10 after the vehicle ran out of gas. It was discovered that the subject heard the crash, but he continued to leave the area of the scene on foot without notifying law enforcement.
